Jhulta Minar

Two tall minarets that shimmy and shake…The Jhulta Minar, literally meaning ‘the shaking minarets’ are the only remnants of the Sidi Bashir Mosque built in 1452 in Ahmendabad. Shaking one of these 3-storey minarets sets the other off too, and the structure has baffled architects for a long time. Visitors were earlier allowed up to the top of these minarets, but since 1981, public entry was stopped in the interests of preservation and safety.
