Thibaw Min and his Indian Connection

Did you know that there is a Burmese king buried on Indian soil? The grave of Thibaw Min, the last Burmese sovereign, is in Ratnagiri Village in Maharashtra. His army was defeated by the British forces in the third Anglo Burmese war in 1885, and he was exiled to India with his family. He lived in the Thibaw Palace built for him by the British. He lived a reclusive life and died in 1916.
