The ‘ Hawa Mahal’ or the ‘The Palace of Breeze’, is an extraordinarily pretty 50 feet structure, built in pink and red sandstone, in the year 1799 CE by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh. The facade of the building looks like a gorgeous honeycomb hive with over 953 delicately carved small windows called Jharokhas. It was built by the king to help the ladies of the royal palace take a peek at life and processions happening in the city.
