Which is the tallest gateway in the world? The magnificent ‘Buland Darwaza’ (54 metres), which literally means ‘Great door’ was built by Emperor Akbar in 1602. It stands tall in Fatehpur Sikri, a UNESCO world heritage site near Agra, that served as the capital of the Mughal empire for less than 15 years.
