Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da… Did you know that Paul Macartney composed this song in India? In 1968, the Beatles came to Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, to learn meditation from Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. And it was during their stay there that some of their best compositions came about. They were released as the ‘White Album’. The site in Rishikesh, called ‘The Beatles Ashram’, was abandoned in the 90s and is now managed by the Forest department. It is open to visitors.
