A series of digs carried out by the Archaeological Survey of India in a little village called Keeladi near Madurai unearthed artefacts dating back at least to the 6th century BCE.
These excavations allow us to take another look at theories of how civilisation began in south India. Was civilisation in south India really not more than 2300 years old? Or were there thriving settlements in these parts much before that time? And how were they linked to the Indus Valley Civilisation?
Join Storytrails for a special live session where we take you through the highlights of one of the most significant archaeological excavations in recent times!
